James H. Webb’s Cabin, 1852

This cabin dates to 1852 when a free black, James H. Webb, purchased a 31-acre parcel near Preston.  This rare log cabin structure dating to the period of slavery has miraculously survived and is undergoing restoration.  For more information, contact the Caroline County Historical Society.
